Water, mud and snow are no longer the enemy of this monster truck. Fitted with waterproof electronics the Traxxas Stampede XL 5 will fast become your favourite no matter the conditions. Combined with its easy operation and high performance it’s little wonder that the Stampede is still the first name in monster trucks.

What’s the Traxxas Stampede XL 5 Got?

Fitted with a Titan 12-turn 550 modified motor, a racing-style Magnum 272 transmission the Traxxas Stampede XL 5 can be pushed to speeds over 30 mph (using a 7-cell battery and included optional 23-tooth pinion gear. Otherwise 25mph with 6-cell battery and stock installed pinion.)

The Titan 12T has an integrated cooling fan keeping the motor cool. A cooler motor will give longer run times, deliver faster speeds and extend motor life.

The Magnum 272 trans is fully sealed and comes equipped with Revo®-Spec Torque-Control™ slipper clutch. These things are great they take the shock out of instant on throttle applications and also help absorb shock to the drive components on landing a jump.

On all four corners Traxxas have fitted Revo-spec Talon™ 2.8″ tires, giving traction in the most extreme conditions. The tires have been pre-glued onto the All-Star mirror chrome wheels and include performance tuned foam inserts, providing stability on any surface. Just watch these Talons kick up huge roosts.

The Traxxas Stampede XL 5 is fitted with the same waterproof technology that is fitted to the E-Maxx. Allowing the Stampede the freedom to drive through mud, water, snow and other similar conditions that were not possible before.
This new waterproof technology houses the new XL-5 electronic speed control and mini receiver. Now the Stampede XL-5 is ready to race anywhere.

What is this XL-5?

The XL-5 is an electronic speed controller fitted specifically to harness the power of the Titan 12T motor. This speed controller gives you total control over the Stampede. Using the EZ-Set one button set up, you have three settings that you can use to adjust the performance profile of the Traxxas Stampede XL 5.

Sport Mode – forward and reverse
Race Mode – forward only
Training Mode – 50% power, forward and reverse. designed for the young or those just getting started.

All three modes have full use of the brake.

Remember back when you were a kid and your parents bought you an RC car from walmart? This isn’t that car, This is the real deal and rugged. Drive it through snow, puddles, mud, you name it and it’ll rip through it like nothing. Highly recommended with extra battery pack and EZ quick charger.I’ll update my review as I use the model more but so far, I’m blown away.

The truck will exceed 30mph but you have to buy an up-grade battery.
Some people have experienced motor problems. Due to the operational nature of this truck again an upgrade maybe required.

Many people have had hours of fun with this remote control truck either by themselves or shared with others like their kids. The Traxxas Stampede XL-5 is the perfect entry level RC truck and will test all but an experienced operators driving skills.
